Good to know before you go
Helpful information when planning your trip

What should i wear
for this trip?
Guests are advised to bring clothes and footwear suitable for gentle off-road walking and taking part in agricultural activities. Between end of September and beginning of May, temperatures vary between 15 and 26 degrees in the coastal areas. The sea is pleasantly warm through to the end of November and begins to heat up again in April, so please do bring swim wear as well as a jumper/jacket for the evenings. We will provide light rain protection, if necessary, and beach towels are available.
Where will i be staying?
Most tours are based in the south east of the island where accommodation is provided on an inclusive B&B basis. In Villasimius, we work with small businesses, run by families known to us and check to ensure the accommodation meets a high standard of comfort and sustainability. We will provide full details of where you are staying in advance of your trip. Generally, everyone in the groups stays at the same location. However, depending on the month of trave, if you would prefer separate hotel accommodation, it may be possible to arrange this for a supplementary charge. Please let us know if you would like us to explore this option for you.
Who will be in my group?
The maximum size of any group is 10 people and the minimum is six. If you are local to where we are based in the UK, we will invite you to meet your fellow travellers in person at a relaxed get-together at our restaurant in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know you a little, discuss any special interests you have, and for you to ask questions about the tour.
Are your tours
suitable for children?
Sardinians love children and the family is an incredibly important institution here – we couldn't run our tours without them! However, our core food and wine tours weren't really built with children in mind - not least because many of our activities explore Sardinia's long and noble tradition for growing grapes to make into some excellent wine, and the legal drinking age in Italy is 18. But we are always happy to discuss alternative tour options for family groups and offer advice on family-friendly trips to the island... whatever your age, you will always be assured a warm welcome here.
What methods of payment are accepted in Sardinia?
For personal expenses, we recommend bringing euros as well as card/contactless. While traders, bars, etc, in larger towns and cities will nearly all accept digital payments, many of the producers in outlying areas will not.
Do i need insurance?
Terra Sarda Tours is fully insured and complies with the Package Travel Regulations (2018), which includes financial protection for you in the event that the company becomes insolvent after you have paid towards your trip and before it is complete. However, we ask all guests to confirm that they have adequate personal holiday insurance in place.
who is my contact
when i'm in sardinia?
All tours are personally hosted in Sardinia by Sue and Candido, working alongside local people. You will be provided with our personal contact details and we are available 24/7.
Can you arrange flights from the UK?
We are not licensed to book flights or other forms of transport from the UK to Sardinia. However, we have been making this trip for many years and are happy to talk through your options. While direct flights are available,
